It is a series based on research into reclaimed wood. It is a side table that repurposes reclaimed wood that had been used as a pier. One might think that the wood, having been in the water, would have decayed due to repeated expansion and contraction. However, the lignin in the wood reacts with sunlight and the minerals in the water, giving it a beautiful color that is close to black or dark gray in parts. Although the outer 5mm-10mm of the wood, which was in frequent contact with water, has decayed, it was found that the core of the wood has become even more solid.
One of the greatest advantages of wood used as a building material is that it comes from old growth trees. The tree rings accumulate layer by layer each year, increasing the wood's natural density. Density translates to strength, and thus wood from trees that have grown for many years is incomparably stronger than easily obtainable common wood.

When we sit on the pier and watch the sun paint the seared surface, our memories of resting are brought back to the dock. The moments when we placed a cup of coffee on the pier and took a break, or when we set down our phone and wallet to sit and feel the leisure beyond the horizon.
This project also aimed at mass production. Based on the research about the automated reclaimed wood production process, additional processes such as de-nailing and filling through a 3D scanner and robot arm are required. It was found that such automation processes are also effective in terms of cost for consumers with below the cost analysis.
